The PDO Cheeses of Greece

In a moment of exasperation with French politics, Charles de Gaulle famously asked: “How can you govern a country that has 246 varieties of cheese?” Few would dispute that Greece is every bit as hard to govern as France, but cheese lovers outside the country only know feta and perhaps one or two other cheeses out of the multitude it offers. Yet, based on size and population, Greece produces as many different cheeses as France, confirming the general's observation!
